These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the DocInsight website, downloads, documentation, support channels, issue tracker, update services, licensing services, and related online services provided by DevJet Software (“DevJet”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). DocInsight was formerly known as Documentation Insight.
DevJet Software is a business name used by an independent software developer and vendor. Unless an order, invoice, written agreement, or updated legal notice identifies a separate or successor legal entity, references to “DevJet Software”, “DevJet”, “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the individual operator using that business name.
These Terms are separate from the DocInsight End User License Agreement (“EULA”). The EULA governs your installation and use of the DocInsight software. If these Terms conflict with the EULA about software license rights or restrictions, the EULA controls. If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy about personal information handling, the Privacy Policy controls to the extent of that conflict.
By accessing or using the website, downloads, documentation, support channels, update services, licensing services, or related services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use those services.
Using our website and services
You may use the DocInsight website, documentation, downloads, and related services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You must not:
- interfere with the operation, security, integrity, or availability of the website, downloads, licensing services, update services, checkout links, support systems, or related infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, license records, private repositories, non-public services, or other users’ information;
- misuse downloads, license keys, activation credentials, update channels, trials, insiders builds, previews, or support resources;
- use automated access, scraping, crawling, load testing, or similar activity in a way that degrades, abuses, or disrupts our services;
- submit false, misleading, infringing, unlawful, harmful, abusive, confidential, or sensitive content;
- bypass, disable, or interfere with technical, security, license, or access-control measures; or
- use the website or services in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
We may suspend, restrict, or discontinue access to any website feature, download, support channel, trial, preview, update service, licensing service, or related service if we reasonably believe there is abuse, security risk, unlawful activity, license misuse, or violation of these Terms or the EULA. Where practicable and legally permissible, we will provide notice or an opportunity to cure, but we may act immediately to address security, fraud, legal, operational, or abuse risks.
Purchases through FastSpring
DocInsight purchases, renewals, subscriptions, billing, taxes, invoicing, payment processing, chargebacks, and certain refund workflows may be handled by FastSpring.
When you buy or renew DocInsight through FastSpring, your purchase transaction is subject to FastSpring’s applicable terms, purchaser terms, privacy policies, checkout terms, and subscription management processes. FastSpring may act as merchant of record, reseller, payment processor, tax handler, subscription platform, or commerce provider for the transaction, depending on the checkout flow and applicable FastSpring terms.

Your right to install and use DocInsight is governed by the DocInsight EULA and the license terms associated with your order, not by these website Terms alone.
Subscriptions, renewals, and cancellation notices
Subscriptions may be offered with manual renewal, automatic renewal, or both.
If automatic renewal is offered, the renewal term, renewal price, renewal date or billing cycle, and cancellation method should be disclosed at checkout or in the applicable subscription management process. Where required by applicable law, automatic renewal reminders or other notices will be provided before renewal.
You may cancel automatic renewal according to the applicable checkout or subscription management process. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund amounts already paid unless required by applicable law, stated at checkout, or approved under the applicable refund policy.
Software license
Downloading, installing, activating, accessing, or using DocInsight requires acceptance of the applicable DocInsight EULA.
Your license may define the permitted users, license seats, subscription term, renewal rights, support period, update rights, trial limitations, transfer restrictions, permitted use, and other software-use conditions.
You are responsible for keeping license keys, activation credentials, account credentials, and purchase records secure. You must not share, publish, transfer, resell, or disclose license keys or activation credentials except as allowed by the applicable license.
Product updates, licensing, and connected features
DocInsight is designed as a local-first documentation tool. In normal local use, DocInsight builds documentation on your machine and does not upload your source code, documentation files, generated output, repository contents, or project content to DevJet Software.
The DocInsight application and command-line tools may connect to DevJet Software services or related infrastructure to activate or refresh a license, validate license status, check subscription status, check for updates, download release metadata, download managed toolchain components, or access similar product infrastructure.
Disabling, blocking, or interfering with licensing, activation, update, download, or subscription-status services may prevent certain features from working correctly, may prevent license validation, or may prevent access to updates, downloads, managed toolchains, trials, insiders builds, or other product functionality.
Trials, insiders builds, previews, and beta features
We may offer trials, insiders builds, previews, beta features, experimental commands, early-access downloads, or pre-release documentation.
These may be incomplete, unstable, time-limited, watermarked, unsupported, subject to change, or removed before general release. They may not be suitable for production use unless we explicitly say otherwise.
Statements about planned features, roadmaps, release dates, future platform support, future integrations, or future output formats are informational only and are not binding commitments unless included in a separate written agreement.
Documentation and product information
We try to keep product information, documentation, pricing, release notes, compatibility information, and download information accurate, but they may contain errors or become outdated.
We may update, correct, remove, reorganize, or discontinue website content, documentation, downloads, release notes, product pages, pricing pages, and support materials at any time.
You may link to our public website and documentation in a fair and non-misleading way. You may not copy, mirror, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of our website, documentation, downloads, or product materials except as allowed by the applicable EULA, documentation license, open-source license, or separate written permission.
Privacy, cookies, analytics, and sensitive information
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information related to the website, downloads, analytics, purchases, licensing, updates, and support.
The DocInsight website may use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic and performance measurement. FastSpring checkout and related FastSpring pages may use FastSpring’s own cookies and similar technologies under FastSpring’s policies.
Do not place license keys, passwords, access tokens, personal information, confidential source code, private documentation, proprietary project files, or other sensitive information in website forms, public issue tracker posts, URLs, query strings, screenshots, logs, or other places where they may be collected by website, analytics, security, logging, support, or third-party systems.
Logs, diagnostics, support, and issue tracker
DocInsight may create local log files and diagnostic output on your machine. You are responsible for managing those local files.
If you enable debug, verbose, trace, diagnostic, or similar logging, local log files may include sensitive or project-specific information, such as local file paths, project configuration, command-line arguments, environment details, diagnostic context, symbol names, build input, excerpts of source code, excerpts of documentation files, or generated output snippets.
DevJet Software does not receive local logs unless you choose to send them to us, attach them to a support request, upload them to an issue tracker, share them by email, or otherwise disclose them.
Support may be provided by email, website forms, issue tracker, release channels, or other support systems we make available. Support availability may vary by product version, license status, support channel, and DevJet Software’s availability.
Public issue tracker content may be visible to anyone. Do not post license keys, passwords, access tokens, private source code, confidential project files, personal information, or sensitive business information in public issues, discussions, comments, screenshots, logs, sample projects, or reproduction files.
Before sending logs, diagnostics, screenshots, sample projects, or reproduction files to us, review and redact them carefully. Delete debug, verbose, trace, or diagnostic logs when they are no longer needed, especially if they were generated while working with confidential projects.
We may remove, edit, hide, or decline to respond to content that is spam, abusive, off-topic, unlawful, misleading, confidential, sensitive, harmful, or inappropriate for a public support channel.
Third-party services and links
DocInsight websites, downloads, documentation, checkout flows, support channels, update services, licensing services, generated documentation, or product workflows may link to, use, or integrate with third-party services, including FastSpring, Cloudflare, GitHub, hosting providers, CI systems, email providers, and other tools.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, content, outages, security practices, privacy practices, or policies.
Intellectual property
DocInsight, DevJet Software, the DocInsight logo, product names, website content, documentation, downloads, generated assets provided by us, design elements, text, graphics, and related materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, resell, sublicense, or create derivative works from DocInsight or our materials except as allowed by the applicable EULA, documentation license, open-source license, or separate written permission.
All third-party trademarks, product names, company names, and logos are the property of their respective owners.
Your content and feedback
You retain ownership of source code, documentation, project files, generated output, examples, logs, diagnostics, screenshots, comments, feedback, or other materials that you provide to us.
DocInsight is not a hosted documentation service. We do not claim ownership of your source code, documentation files, generated documentation output, repository contents, or project content.
When you send us content for support, feedback, issue reporting, testing, debugging, or product improvement, you grant us permission to use that content as reasonably needed to investigate, reproduce, diagnose, fix, document, improve, and respond to the issue or feedback.
If you provide suggestions, ideas, feature requests, comments, or other feedback, we may use that feedback without obligation to you, provided that we do not claim ownership of your underlying source code, documentation files, or confidential project content.
Feedback does not include your confidential source code, private documentation, non-public project files, or support materials except to the extent reasonably necessary for support, troubleshooting, security, product improvement, and related purposes described in these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or a separate written agreement.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to send us any content you provide and that your content does not violate applicable law, confidentiality obligations, or third-party rights.
Compliance with laws
You are responsible for using the website, downloads, support channels, update services, licensing services, and DocInsight-related services in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, export controls, sanctions, and third-party rights.
You must not use our services in a way that violates applicable law, infringes third-party rights, or misuses third-party source code, documentation, APIs, SDKs, libraries, credentials, or confidential information.
Non-excludable rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any warranty, condition, guarantee, right, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, modified, or limited under applicable law.
To the extent that any warranty, condition, guarantee, right, remedy, or liability is implied or imposed by applicable law and cannot be excluded, restricted, modified, or limited, DevJet Software’s liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability to the extent such liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Disclaimers
The website, documentation, downloads, previews, trials, insiders builds, update services, licensing services, analytics, support channels, and related services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, except where a separate written agreement or the applicable EULA states otherwise.
We do not guarantee that the website, downloads, documentation, update services, licensing services, support channels, analytics, previews, or related services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, complete, current, or always available.
We do not guarantee that product information, compatibility information, release notes, documentation, examples, or roadmap statements will be free of errors or suitable for your specific use case.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DevJet Software will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or business interruption, arising from or related to your use of the website, downloads, documentation, support channels, update services, licensing services, analytics, previews, or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DevJet Software’s total cumulative liability arising out of or related to these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid for DocInsight or the affected online service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to liability, whether paid through DevJet Software, FastSpring, or another authorized reseller, merchant of record, or commerce provider; or (b) USD 100.
The EULA governs warranty disclaimers and liability limitations for installation and use of the DocInsight software.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. In such jurisdictions, DevJet Software’s liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
Changes to these Terms apply prospectively unless required by law or necessary to address abuse, fraud, security, or misuse. Changes to these Terms do not retroactively reduce software license rights granted under the EULA for Product versions lawfully obtained during a paid Subscription Term.
Your continued use of the website, downloads, support channels, update services, licensing services, or related services after the updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
Assignment, reorganization, and successor entity
If DevJet Software later incorporates, reorganizes, changes its operating structure, registers or transfers the DocInsight business to a legal entity, or transfers substantially all assets related to DocInsight, DevJet Software may assign or transfer these Terms to the successor operator or legal entity, provided that such transfer does not materially reduce your software license rights for Product versions lawfully obtained before the transfer.
Where required by applicable law, DevJet Software will provide notice of the successor operator or legal entity and any related material changes to personal information handling.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Mainland of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict of law principles.
For business, entity, professional, or other non-consumer users, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, the website, downloads, support channels, update services, licensing services, or related services shall be submitted to the competent courts located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, People’s Republic of China, unless a separate written agreement signed by DevJet Software states otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights or remedies that a consumer may have under applicable consumer protection laws, including mandatory rights under the law of the consumer’s habitual residence and any right to bring claims in a court or forum that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Nothing in this section prevents DevJet Software from seeking urgent injunctive, equitable, or protective relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for unauthorized use, misuse, infringement, circumvention, or misappropriation involving DocInsight, license credentials, intellectual property, or confidential information.
